The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) selected Dr. Mohammad Shahidehpour as a 2017 Fellow. Dr. Shahidehpour, Director of the Robert W. Galvin Center for Electricity Innovation at Illinois Institute of Technology (Illinois Tech) and a member of Willdan's Board of Directors, led the Illinois Tech Microgrid, a $12 million partnership to create the first functional microgrid in the U.S.
"Election to NAI Fellow status is the highest professional distinction accorded solely to academic inventors who have demonstrated a prolific spirit of innovation in creating or facilitating outstanding inventions that have made a tangible impact on quality of life, economic development, and the welfare of society," states the NAI, a non-profit member organization.
