$1.4 Million Contract for Interoperability Project

Dec 14, 2010 | Press Release

Vic Thies, President and Chief Executive Officer of WHS stated, “This project is one of the largest communications interoperability planning projects being undertaken in the United States. The project will improve the ability of first responders to communicate across an 11-county area that is larger than New York State, has a population over 22 million, and is serviced by more than 500 public safety agencies using a variety of disparate communications systems.”

As technical lead on the project, WHS will provide planning and training services for developing the SPA’s five-year Communications Interoperability Strategic Plan, including a multi-year training plan, curriculum design, and NIMS/ICS-compliant standardized user courses for field and communications/dispatch centers. WHS’s communications professionals will support each of the 11 counties in improving the SPA’s interoperable communications through compliance with the California Statewide Communication Interoperable Plan and the National Emergency Communication Plan.

“An effective strategic plan is critical to successful program implementation,” further states Vic Thies. “We look forward to leveraging our expertise in support of the Southern Planning Area’s interoperability project and to expanding the footprint of Willdan’s communications and technology services.”
