Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO)

Orange Line Extension Design-Build

Willdan’s transportation engineering experts led the civil design for a $98 million design-build project to extend the Metro Link Orange Line dedicated busway an additional four miles north so that it could connect to the Chatsworth Amtrak/Metrolink station. The project included the construction of four new bus stations, two bridge replacements, and traffic improvements such as dedicated paths for pedestrians and bicycles, park-and-ride and parking lot facilities, traffic signal modifications, raised landscaped medians, and an irrigation system.

We successfully delivered this project on-time and under-budget, providing county residents with improved public transportation times and greater access throughout the county. This project won Project of the Year from both the Western Council of Construction Consumers (WCCC) and the American Public Works Association (APWA).
